The Bandits (5-2) defeated the So. Maine Raging Bulls by the score of 28-20 in a wild ending. The Bulls jumped to and early 7-0 lead but the Bandits answered when John McElrath darted through the line for a 25 yard touchdown score, knotting the score. The Bulls would regain the lead after a short 2 yard touchdown plunge 14-7. The Bandits answered when Clarzell Pearl found Daryl Hodge in the corner for a 9 yard touchdown strike. The PAT, however, failed, leaving the score at 14-13 at the half. After a scoreless third quarter, things heated up in the final period. The Bandits took their first lead when Pearl snuck in from the 1 yard line. The 2pt conversion failed and the Bulls pounced on the bobbled football, scooping it up and taking it on a convoy to the end zone, however, WR Hodge tracked the posse down and got in front of the ball carrier, incurring a block in the back penalty. The score stood at 19-14 Bandits. The Bulls would then drive the length of the field to regain the lead 20-19 with a minute to play. Their 2 point conversion failed. The Bandits got another great retrun from Hodge (along with earlier ones by Rondale Williams and John McElrath) to get into Bull territory. Miguel Oliva hit a 25 yard FG to put the Bandits back in the lead 22-20 with 10 seconds to go. The Bulls had one last Hail Mary attempt but when their quarterback was hit, he fumbled the ball and DE Jimmy Midgette scooped it up and ran it 35 yards into the end zone for the 28-20 final score. The Bandits next host the Middleboro Cobras (7-1) and English HS on Sept. 11th at 7PM.

Bandits 0-7-0-0-7 Maulers 7-7-0-7-21
7-0 Maulers X TD reception from Colon 14-0 Maulers X TD reception from Colon 7-14 Bandits Sweet 9 yard TD reception from Pearl (Oliva PAT) 21-7 Maulers X TD reception from Colon
The Boston Bandits' six turnovers were too much to overcome as the rejuvinated Merrimack Valley Maulers upset the Bandits 21-7. It began right away, as the Bandits went from a 'what if moment' as the opening kickoff was a kicker's hand away from a quick lead. Instead, the kicker jarred the ball lose and the Bandit defense had to come to prevent the Maulers from scoring early. After a fumble on the Bandits' 2nd possesion, the Maulers capitalized for a 7-0 lead. The Bandits fumbled away the next kickoff, but the defense bailed them out again when Curtis Tatum picked off a pass. The teams exchanged possessions before the Bandits fumbled a punt return, setting up another Mauler touchdown strike and a 14-0 lead. The Bandits would cut the lead in half when Clarzell Pearl found Darryl Sweet in the corner of the end-zone to make it 14-7. The Maulers would take advantage of an interception in the fourth, and a controversial play where the receiver was hit out of bounds, but came back into play to grab a touchdown pass from Alexi Colon, his third of the night. The Bandits returned the ensuing kick-off for a touchdown but a flag behind the play took the score off the boards and the wind out of the Bandits who dropped to 4-2. The Bandits next play the So. Maine Raging Bulls at English HS on August 28th at 7PM

Bandits 0-0-0-8-8 Thunder 0-0-7-0-7
7-0 Thunder Fervier 50yd run (PAT) 2-7 Bandits Safety 8-7 Bandits Hodge 70yd FKR (2pt failed)
A defensive struggle. The Bandits miss two redzone opportunities in the first half w/ 2 missed field goals. Ty Brooks gets his second interception of the year, but the score remained at zero at the half. Bandits block a Thunder field goal attempt in the 3rd quarter but can't take advantage of the momentum and give the ball back to the Thunder. RB Anrae Fervier appeared stopped at the line then squirts through for the long run. A good punts pin Thunder deep in their end in the fourth. Bandits recover fumble deep in Thunder territory but can't convert on 4th and goal at the 2. Thunder forced to punt from endzone, snap goes awry, punter kicks it out of the end zone for a safety. Hodge returns the free kick about 120 yards from side to side thanks to a clean up block by John McElrath. 2pt play fails. 5 minutes left in the game. The Thunder get the ball down field, miss a field goal and a controversial roughing the kicker flag get called. Thunder have the ball 1st and goal, but come up empty on three attempts. Try another field goal, snap is low, holder takes off and gets stopped at the 2. Bandits take a knee and a hard fought win 8-7. Next up for the Bandits are the Merrimack Valley Maulers, fresh off their upset victory over the Ocean State Vipers, Saturday, August 21st 7PM at Veteran's Stadium in Lawrence.

Thought we had this game a few times, but tough to win when you give Lowell a freeby with less then 5 minutes to go in the game, then hit the post on two 30 yard FG's in the last 3 minutes. Todd LaCourse put the whammy on the yellow helmets. RIP #3.

Bandits 21-7-3-6-37 Hawks. 0-0-0-0- 0
7-0 Bandits Blot 38yd pass from Pearl (Oliva PAT) 14-0 Bandits Harold 25yd TD run (Oliva PAT) 21-0 Bandits Lormeus 40yd INT TD (Oliva PAT) 28-0 Bandits McElrath 5yd TD run (Oliva PAT) 31-0 Bandits Oliva 35yd FG 37-0 Bandits Simpson 10yd TD run (PAT failed)
The Boston Bandits (3-0) wasted no time clipping the Hawks' wings when they put up 21 first quarter points. The Bandits opened the scoring when QB Clarzell Pearl found WR Jay Blot open in the middle of the field for a 38 yard catch and touchdown run. The Defense matched the intensity in their first appearance when DB Ty Brooks and LB Greg Dominique hit different players on the same play causing their helmets to go airborn. The Bandits scored quickly again on a 25 yard touchdown by JT Harold. The defense would not be out shined as Leighton Lormeus intercepted a wayward pass, taking it 40 yards back for a pick 6. Leighton would later add a second INT and a fumble recovery on his night. The Bandits would continue the onslaught in the 2nd quarter when John McElrath darted into the endzone after nice catches by Omar Phillip and Jeff Similien brought the ball into the red-zone. Miguel Oliva added a 35 yard field goal in the 3rd quarter to his 4 first half PAT's, upping the lead to 31-0. After Daryl Sweet's reception got the Bandits in range, RB Bobby Simpson added another score as he ran over a defender at the goal line after a ten yard toss. The Hawks threatened to score on their last possession of the game but came up empty on a 4th down attempt inside the Bandit red-zone, keeping the shut out intact at 37-0. The Bandits next play the Lowell Nor'easter, the defending NEFL Champions, on Saturday August 7th (location to be determined).

The Boston Bandits (2-0) defeated the Bay State Renegades 9-3 in their 2010 home opener. As if the game had continued over from last year when it took 2 OTs for the Bandits to win the playoff game between the long time rivals, the defenses ruled the day. The Renegades took advantage of a Bandit poor long snap on a punt on the first drive to take over deep in Bandit territory. The Bandit defense, however, held firm, giving up only a 31 yard FG. The Bandit defense would set up the tie when Anthony Musto strip sacked the 'Gades QB, recovering the ball in Bay State territory. Miguel Oliva's 31 yard FG tied the score. Clarzell Pearl entered the game for the first time with 3 minutes to go in the half, and enginered a scoring drive, culminating with a 6 yard TD reception to James Dobson. The extra point was block leaving the score at 9-3 at the half. Neither team could sustain any offense on this hot day (game time temp. was 92 degrees). Alvin Edwards got his second interception in as many games, The Bandits failed to up the lead when the committed two turnover in 'Gade territory in the 4th quarter.
